Thank You for the invite to Genting Singapore Investors Briefing Sep 2026

I was invited to attend Genting Singapore’s investor briefing at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) last Friday.
A big thank you to Mun Yuen, Head of Investor Relations, and her team, who took us through the latest developments, including WEAVE and The Laurus, the newly opened luxury hotel.
For some context, Genting Singapore is one of the STI component stocks. Yet while
Singapore equities have enjoyed improving liquidity, sentiment and valuations, following initiatives such as the MAS S$5 billion Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP), Genting Singapore has not enjoyed the same re-rating.
The main issue has been the earnings story. Resorts World Genting has gone through setbacks since Covid while embarking on its ambitious RWS 2.0 transformation.
One key difference versus MBS is timing. MBS had already begun upgrading its hotels and facilities from 2022, allowing it to capture the post-Covid recovery with a refreshed product offering. RWS 2.0 only broke ground in late 2024, meaning much of Genting Singapore’s transformation was still ahead.
But after seeing RWS first-hand, things are starting to look quite different.
The S$6.8 billion RWS 2.0 transformation is taking shape, with gross floor area expected to expand by around 50%. WEAVE, Singapore Oceanarium, Minion Land and The Laurus are among the newer additions, with Super Nintendo World and two more luxury hotels still to come.

What caught my attention most is the focus on higher-value customers and a more premium experience.
I had the opportunity to walk through The Laurus Presidential Suite, and you can immediately see the level of luxury Genting Singapore is aiming for. I was also told that The Laurus is currently fully booked.
The strategy is not simply about getting more tourists through the gates. It is about attracting visitors who stay longer and spend more across gaming, dining, retail and entertainment - aligning with the Singapore Tourism Board’s focus on yield-driven tourism and higher-value visitor segments.

The heavy lifting has been going on for years. The new attractions are now coming through - and the question is whether they can finally show up in the numbers.
Now comes the “show me the money” moment.
Can the transformation translate into higher visitor spending, stronger earnings and better returns?
For me, that is where the valuation story gets interesting. If earnings recover as RWS 2.0 ramps up, GENS could finally have the catalyst to participate in the broader re-rating that Singapore equities have already enjoyed.
Give it a bit more time, and I’m confident RWS 2.0 can deliver - and if it does, perhaps
Genting Singapore can once again reclaim its place among the equity darlings of yesteryear.
And since we’re talking about Genting, perhaps it’s only fitting to end with a little wager:
I’m willing to bet on it. 😉
